Expression of Interest: Alzheimer’s WA’s Consumer Advisory Committee

Alzheimer’s WA (AWA) is inviting individuals with personal experience of dementia and/or utilising aged care and NDIS services to express their interest in joining the Consumer Advisory Committee.

We are looking for individuals who provide valuable insights from the consumer/participant/carer perspective and offer advice on enhancing services at Alzheimer’s WA.

Our goal is to deliver person-centred support and ensure the rights of our consumers/participants are fully embedded.

We encourage representation from diverse cultures, values, and beliefs to reflect the diversity of our community.

Meetings are held every six weeks at our office in Subiaco. Our first meeting will be Wednesday 7 February at 2pm.

The primary objectives of the Consumer Advisory Committee are:

  • Assist AWA in providing quality care and supports to all consumers and participants.
  • Provide learnings for continuous improvement to ensure AWA meets and exceeds the expectations of our consumers and their families.
  • Foster effective communication between consumers, participants, carers, and AWA.
  • Provide AWA with valuable insights and perspectives on consumer, participants, and carer issues.

We aim to integrate consumer and participant rights into the core business and design of Alzheimer’s WA, both at a strategic and operational level.

Consumers and Carers who are interested in joining either Committee or would like to nominate a carer, are encouraged to contact Marleen Roch, Quality Manager, via email: marleen.roch@alzheimerswa.org.au.

Kindly note as our commitment at AWA is to improving services, with the consumer/participant at the forefront of all decision-making processes.

Committee members will receive care support from Alzheimer’s WA for their loved ones, for the duration of these meetings.
