Dr Helena Popovic MBBS
Medical specialist and best-selling author
Dr Helena Popovic is a medical doctor, leading authority on how to improve brain function, international speaker and best-selling author. She graduated from the University of Sydney and her philosophy is that education is more powerful than medication. Helena is the author of two best-selling books: In Search of My Father – Dementia is no match for a daughter’s determination and NeuroSlimming – Let your brain change your body. Helena speaks from both a personal and professional perspective sharing her mother’s journey with lung cancer and her father’s adventure with dementia. For Dr Helena, promoting vibrant physical and mental health is not just her profession, it is her passion, her purpose and her personal way of life. She believes in slow ageing despite fast living.
Helen Sanderson, CEO Helen Sanderson Associates
UK leader in person-centred practice
Helen Sanderson has led the development of person-centred thinking and planning in the UK for more than 20 years. She is the author of more than 20 books with two and two specifically related to dementia: Personalisation and People Living with Dementia and Making Individual Service Funds Work for People with Dementia Living in Care Homes. Helen leads the social enterprise, Helen Sanderson Associates, working internationally to embed person-centred practices in the heart of organisations and communities. She is also co-founder of charity ‘Community Circles’. Helen says she is committed to supporting individuals, teams and organisations putting people at the heart of the work they do every day. She lives in Heaton Moor, with her husband and three daughters.
