Education workshops for family and friends of people living with dementia

Friends and Family CoursesDo you know someone living with dementia? Would you like to learn more about how you can best support them?

Are you a family member or friend of someone who has been recently diagnosed with dementia?  Would you like to learn more about what this means for them going forward and how you can best support them?

Alzheimer’s WA offers a wide range of free information and education sessions for those who know or care for a person who is living with dementia.

Our information workshops run regularly throughout the year in both metropolitan and regional locations to give you the opportunity to:

  • Gain a better understanding of dementia and its various types
  • Understand what happens when a person develops dementia
  • Meet and share experiences with others in a similar situation
  • Develop strategies for how best to communicate with and support a person living with dementia.

Alternatively, if you are a member of a community group and would like to learn more about dementia, we offer a 1 hour information session at your location, fully customised to meet the needs of your group.

For further information about these workshops, please contact us on 1300 66 77 88, wa.education@alzheimers.org.au or visit www.alzheimerswa.org.au
