Position Summary:
The Senior Manager Education and Consultancy oversees the delivery of sector development business to business services, including the Alzheimer’s WA Registered Training Organisation. The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and focuses on business growth, sustainability, and service delivery, responding to the changing sector environment through leadership and business development expertise in order to maintain the existing customer base as well as acquire and grow new clients, new projects, and drive new revenue. The role ensures strong leadership and mentoring in the Education and Consulting department inspiring exceptional service provision that is commercially sound.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the allocated resources, including staff, in ways that maximise an optimum return to the organisation by developing and promoting processes that encourage effective teamwork;
- To contribute to the strategic development of Alzheimer’s WA in accordance with the organisation’s strategic business plan;
- The role will provide Executive and Business Development leadership to the Alzheimer’s WA education services team through the Training College;
- The role leads managing and growing service lines creating opportunities for Alzheimer’s; WA to maintain a leadership position and revered reputation within the industry;
- Works with the leadership team to instill a culture of high performing, committed and engaged teams;
- The role will provide Executive and Business Development leadership to the specialist practices team to develop the consulting practice across interdisciplinary expert specialisations;
- Collaborates with teams to promote and achieve organisational cohesion and a culture of continuous improvement;
- Participate in personal and professional evaluation of work performance, leading and managing direct reports including coaching, mentoring, and training as required;
- Develop strategy, planning, and provide operational and technical guidance to the education services team to develop and deliver both regulated qualifications across various Certificate and Skill Set combinations, unregulated community short courses/workshops, and fee for service professional sector learning and development;
- Develop strategy, planning, and provide operational and technical guidance to the specialist practices consulting team to expand and develop on the intellectual property asset base of Alzheimer’s WA in support of new programs, new tools, and new practices that underpin existing and new contractual relationships with Government, the sector, and the community;
- Develop the business plan to execute growth and development in line with the organisations strategic plan;
- Advises on and develops business cases to establish new service lines to support relevance and resilience within the market;
- Develop partnerships and relationships with the diverse community of allied organisations, collaboration partners, sector agencies, service providers, and communities that align and underpin the objectives and mission of Alzheimer’s WA;
- Monitor compliance across all funding streams;
- Close regulation of contractual standards, KPI’s and timeframes for all funding streams;
- Ensures the Department’s commitment and adherence to Alzheimer’s WA’s person-centred philosophy and practice in dementia care;
- Identifies service gaps and develops commercially sound responses;
- Drives management strategies including the monitoring and preparation of reports and KPI’s in relation to Department actions;
- Identifies opportunities for additional sources of funding and executes proposals, grant applications, or direct negotiations to secure these funds;
- Develops the operating budget and plan;
- Develops the business growth plan;
- Manages the operational activity to budget and plan reporting monthly;
- Maintain statistics relevant to operational performance across the business service lines and revenue generation activities;
- Actively contributes to the development of the organisation through the executive leadership team;
- Provides positive and professional leadership across the organisation;
- Leads and manages direct reports including coaching, mentoring, and training as required;
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant 5-8 years Education and/or Consulting Industry experience;
- Strong business development or commercial background;
- Demonstrated financial management and budgeting experience;
- Demonstrated ability to seek and develop new, and maintain existing, relationships to achieve strategic business objectives and to convert these relationships into opportunities for the business;
- Demonstrated ability to seek out, shape and submit, funding, grants, tenders and proposals;
- Demonstrated ability to meet new client growth and deliver contract outcomes;
- Clear understanding and commitment to the person-centred philosophy and practice;
- Demonstrated management experience in managing the culture and performance of teams and a variety of programs and services including RTO;
- Well-developed verbal and written skills including the ability to communicate information clearly and accurately;
- Commitment and understanding of Alzheimer’s WA’s Vision, Purpose, Philosophy and Values;
- Knowledge and experience of business practices as they apply to delivering chargeable education and consulting services;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to present and manage stakeholder relationships, time management and organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines;
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and desktop publishing;
- An ability to prioritise, monitor and coordinate personal workloads to meet varying deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to lead a small team;
- Commitment and understanding of Alzheimer’s WA’s Vision, Purpose, Philosophy and Values;
- Tertiary qualification in Human Services, Commerce and/or Business or similar;
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willing to get one);
- Current WA Driver’s Licence;
- Working rights in Australia;
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
