Successful fete for Ella’s House community

A volunteer and two children sat on a motorcycle trike at the Ella’s House Respite Centre feteStaff at Ella’s House recently held a fete for members and their families in the grounds of the peaceful  renovated garden.

Respite Coordinator Sally-Anne De Marni said, ‘It was better than we had hoped. Beautiful weather, a fabulous turn out from our Ella’s House community and an all-round great day.

‘We had several entertainers perform free of charge, a wildlife rescue centre brought joeys, birds and possums (a joey even escaped and ran around the yard), our canine volunteer Bentley attended, some show cars, the motorcycle trike rides and a couple of motorcycles (one client’s wife chose a ride on the back of the Harley over the trike and she loved it),

‘We sold out of Devonshire teas (and had prepared for 60+), nearly sold all our sausage sizzles, we had stalls for plants, cakes, books, crafts, and face painting for kids (and clients – one got a Clarke Gable moustache, one got a red back spider),’ she said.

Over $1,300 was raised which will support future activities at Ella’s House.

Ella’s House is one of three Alzheimer’s WA Enabling Households. Ella’s House is open Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 3.00pm, and is located at 11 Candelo Loop, Greenfields.
