Inaugural Walk to Remember raising money for people living with dementia

17 October 2017

Join our passionate walkers as they walk to raise money for people living with dementia at Alzheimer’s WA inaugural Walk to Remember on Sunday, 5 November at Perry Lakes Reserve. Registration is from 7.30am with the walk commencing at 9.00am.

The Walk to Remember is a three, six or nine kilometre walk to remember those who have walked with us in our lives, those who cannot walk for themselves and those who are sadly no longer with us. The Walk raises money to support and advocate for the 34,000 people living with dementia in Western Australia.

We invite the members of the community to get behind the cause by registering as a walker or donating at alzheimerswa.org.au.

“Dementia is a lived experience, and with more than 60% of people living with dementia in their homes in the community it is vital to have the support of local communities.”

“Alzheimer’s WA has been fortunate to have amazing community support in its 35 year history. With ongoing community support we can continue to provide support services and improved facilities to people living with dementia in Western Australia” says Rhonda Parker, CEO, Alzheimer’s WA.

The walk is suitable for people of all ages and fitness and great for the whole family with entertainment, food and coffee choices on offer.

With the dedication and support of our passionate walkers, Alzheimer’s WA is hoping to raise over $100,000 towards helping support and improve the lived experience of those on the dementia journey including people living with dementia, their carers, families, friends and support networks. Every donation goes a long way and every dollar helps.
